Replacing or Repairing a Sewer Line – This is a time consuming, labor-intensive process which involves digging up the entire line and replacing it with new pipes. The project can range from $3,000-$7,000.
Installing a New Water Main – This project can cost between $2K-$5K depending on several variables. Again, heavy labor and skilled plumbers add up to a costly project that no homeowner wants to face. Do you need a new water line?
New Septic System – No Doubt you are seeing a theme here. Any time a job requires digging out the old and replacing with the new, it will be expensive in nature. This project can involve connecting to city sewer line or your own septic tank and can cost between $3K-$7K or more.
Re-piping a House – This is one of the projects where a work-around can be made. Instead of digging up the old cast iron pipes, it is possible to reroute the water through the attic using polymer pipes. It’s still not cheap but can cost as little as $2K. If you dig up the old pipes and replace with new you are looking at $10,000 or more.
Remodeling a Bathroom – This can grow to be astronomical in price but as far as the plumbing aspect you are looking at around ten grand for this job. New fixtures and pipes can really add up fast.
