Camera Diagnostic Tool – What we Look for

As you may know, plumbers use small camera which stuck to the end of movable, prodding device in order to see what is going on within a pipe, behind a wall, or any other hard-to-reach area. The amount of money this can save the customer varies but it can be thousands of dollars.

Before the advent of the tiny camera, plumbers would often need to knock a hole in your wall or floor to get to the pipes. And this was all just to have a look. As you can imagine this was a very costly undertaking.

So, what exactly are we looking for when we use this device?

Leaks

Leaks are the number one reason we use our small camera inspection device. We need to look inside and/or around the pipe to see where the leak is coming from. This way we can pinpoint and attack it directly.

Clogs

Not all clogs are the same. Some may be caused by an object or debris, while other may actually be a busted piece of the pipe itself. We can use the small camera apparatus to get a very good detailed view of the clog and then we will know who to fix the problem.

Tree Roots

This is another issue that we see from time to time. Tree roots grow wildly. They will smash their way into your pipes and will cause major problems. We can locate the area of the tree root intrusion then work from the outside to remove the root. We then repair or replace the damaged pipe.

Collapsed Pipes

The small camera is a great way to see if we have a clog or a collapse. We need to get in there and see where the collapse is so we know where to start digging. This saves time and time is money.
